Ive decided to part ways with my beloved Cressida build. Its been a fantastic and fun car to have and build but I now I have other plans. New aspriations, projects and more but not enough time for them all, lol. So here we are. The car started out life as a normal USDM Toyota Cressida. Ive been in this cars life for longer than anyone else. It was first owned by one friend for many many years who was meticulous with it. Then it went to another friend who was not so meticulous with it haha. He wasnt abusive though, so thats good. Then I saved it after the 7m let go. He was about to crush it and offered it to me last second. That was 5yrs ago now. When I got it, it was still 100% factory other than exhaust. Everything since, has been done 100% by me. Im a welder, fabricator, metal worker by profession, so this car turned into a showcase in what I am capable of and a testimate to myself that Im capable haha. Had to try it on my own before risking customer cars. Thankfully it all worked out as planned lol.
Before listing all the mods/fabrication work, Id like to mention the down sides. To get it out of the way now and finish on a good note. As of now, the car can be considered in “Project Status”. I have had an LS1 in this car, then sold the swap. Then I had it running/driving with a 1JZGTE in it, then someone offered me the moon for that swap. And now its on a 2JZGE-T..buut found out after purchasing the engine that the orevious owner had spun the bearings. Ive had the pan off and rod bearings on 5/6 have spun. Thankfully the owner shut iff the car immediately, because theres no metal anywhere in the head and no scoring on the cam shafts. And the one look I took at the crank, it looked well within savable territory. Just needs the block/pan vatted and cleaned, crank polished and new rod bearings for the engine itself to be good. Its also in project status because it needs a few other parts that I will list below.
Its hard for me to even start on the mods list for this car. And I will most certainly be forgetting something Ive done. I have touched almost every single bolt on this car. About the only thing I havent gotten to yet is the rear suspension arms and differential. Literally everything else, I have either restored, modified or refabricated completely. Firstly the car has an FD spec 10point Roll Cage, that maintains functionality for 4 racing seats. Full Tube Chassis Front end, and tubed firewall surround, all tied into the Roll Cage.  It has an custom Aluminium Firewall that is removable for easy maintence access. Also because Im personally obsessed with Right Hand Drive cars. I love being on that side, especially drifting. I had previously converted a s13 240sx into a silvia by buying a half cut amd cutting the firewalls out. This time I decided to do it my way without the factory firewall. So it has a s13/14/15 steering rack in it, with my custom firewall. It will come with the factory LHD rack if too, and the firewall should technically be flippable, so you could theoretically make it RHD or LHD in a day or two’s time. It has a Sweet Steering Column that is hight adjustible and telescoping. The seats are fixed but the steering wheel and pedal box can adjust to you. The car was built for a 6’3″person, so if you are tall, you wont have any issues in here. Even made sure to have pleanty of space for a helmet on and not interfere with the “roof” or roll cage. It has Wilwood Clutch and Brake Pedals, with master cylinders and remote resivoirs. The gas pedal is the factory cressida pedal that I modified. Id suggest removing it and going with and LS1 dbw Throttle body and pedal. Way easier to mount, use and tune lol. As mentioned before it is a 2JZGE-T with an ebay 3076r
